Adult Aquatic Programs
Dates: November 1-30, 2026 *No Classes November 26 and 27
Cost: $42 per month; $120 - 3 month membership; $7 daily drop-in fee
Location: Hawthorne Pool
Fitness members get full access to all lane swim times and Aquatic Fitness classes. No refund or credits will be issued for weather related closures.

Youth Aquatic Programs

Private lessons are a good option for participants who have specific goals that are outside of the standard learn to swim program, participants who struggle within classes to progress, participants who have special learning needs, participants who have specific scheduling needs, or participants who want more one on one attention.

Lifeguard Classes and Recertifications
Times: 9:00AM-4:30PM
Cost: $250/session by December 16
Age: 15+ at time of testing

The purpose of the American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is to provide entry-level lifeguard participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services personnel take over.
Pre-Skills Testing: Mandatory to complete prior to the start of class and must be set-up directly with class instructors, Danielle Tansel or Caleb Johnson prior to Thursday, December 17th. A full refund will be offered if participants can't pass the pre skills test. No refund will be offered if the participants attempt the class and fail to complete all required components. Attendance at all classes is required for certification. Links to HW & online content will be emailed once your registration is complete.
Apply to be a lifeguard for the City of Galesburg, and if hired get your lifeguard class fees waived!

Recertify as an American Red Cross Lifeguard in this one day class. Participants will be tested over various LG skills including water skills, land skills, and writen tests. Certification will be issued on successful completion & will be valid for 2 years.
Class will cover water skills, including entries and rescues, and land skills including CPR and First Aid. Must pass written tests for CPR, First Aid, AED, and Lifeguarding.
Participants must have a current ARC LG certificate to be eligible to participate in this course. (Must either be current or expired within 30 days of the class date)
This is a blending learning course. The online portion needs to be completed before the in person portion. The link will be sent to you via email after registration deadline.
